Study: Log Management and Privacy

(Study status: Open for participation from June 24th to July 31th 2020)

In a research study conducted by the department for Information Security at Leibniz University Hannover in Germany, we examine the challenges of web server administration in the context of privacy requirements.

We investigate how requirements for logging can be applied in practice, taking into account different privacy requirements like company policies and data protection regulations.

We are especially interested in how developers and/or system administrators handle web server logging. This includes the storage, processing, anonymization and encryption of the log data.

We are particularly looking for participants who have experience in handling web server logs according to privacy requirements. The interview is a 30 to 45 minutes voice call. All information from the interview is anonymized for evaluation.
